What organization approves CPR training courses?
The answer to this may surprise you. It's not the American Heart Association, and it's not us. If you need CPR for professional licensure reasons, then your state board may be involved. But in most cases, it's completely up to your employer! So why not tell them the good news — they can use ProTrainings to better teach their employees and cut costs!

Are you accepted by my state board?
That's not an easy question. You see, state board approval is not always straightforward. Our government? Never...
Some state boards require CPR providers to be officially approved with the state. If this is the case for your state and occupation, then it's easy. Just use the search box below to see if we're on their list.
In other cases, the state only publishes the guidelines for CPR providers to follow. And sometimes, the issue of acceptance is left completely up to your employer.
If in doubt, give our compliance team a call at 855-462-4212 and ask us to check for you.
Can I get CPR certified online without hands-on practice?
Surprisingly, the answer is often yes. If you're required to have CPR as a job requirement, then it's up to your employer to decide how you do it, and many employers are choosing online training.
If you need CPR for OSHA or licensure reasons, then you will often be required to perform hands-on practice. Use the search box below to see if there's a specific requirement for your state and occupation.
If you're required to have hands-on practice, your best option is the ProTrainings blended course. It combines the convenience of e-learning with the one-on-one attention of classroom training, and you can still get trained without ever leaving home.
Are you approved by the American Heart Association or the Red Cross?
The American Heart Association and the Red Cross are non-profit organizations. They are not governmental bodies and it is not their role to approve other companies to teach CPR.
This gets confusing, however, because many state departments and other accrediting organizations look to the American Heart Association to set the standard for CPR and they expect other training providers to adhere to the American Heart Association guidelines.
To satisfy these requirements, ProTrainings adheres to the guidelines established by the American Heart Association and has been deemed to be an equivalent program by numerous third-party organizations.
