  • Child Care Providers in Hawaii are required to have an Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
  • The Hawaii Dept. of Human Services, Child Care Program requires a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid for licensing. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • A practical (hands-on) skills component is required by the state or by your Child Care facility or Day Care center to maintain employment.
  • Most employers will require a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for all ages.

Child Care Providers in Hawaii usually need a Lay Rescuer CPR, AED certification. Required training should include; Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid with a practical (hands-on) skills component.



Delivery Method

Child Care Providers in Hawaii are required to maintain Adult, Child, Infant (Pediatric) CPR, AED and First Aid that includes a practical skills evaluation through in person or blended training process. A 100% online CPR will only be an option upon the discretion of the employer. 17-895-22 First Aid and Child Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
(a)The first aid requirement shall be as follows:
(1)There shall be at least one adult caregiver with a current certificate in first aid at the facility when children are present.

(b)The child CPR requirement shall be as follows:
(1)There shall be at least one adult caregiver with a current certificate in child CPR at the facility when children are present.
